Tamansari / Water Castle Jogjakarta Traveling
Tamansari or WaterCastle Jogjakarta, Memories of the 18th Century Architecture
Visiting the Watercastle complex in Yogyakarta seemed to penetrate the hall, staring at the robustness of the 18th century building. An initial introduction and later will be more intense, which combines traditional Javanese buildings with European architecture. House building in the complex form of the model village, pyramid and ‘tajug‘ with shingle-style roof tiles of concrete, combined with decorative Chinese art form of the dragon, while the giant’s head, wings of birds and flowers motif on the gate borrowed from Hindu art, while the curved motifs such as ‘mihrab’ and several other windows absorb the Islamic model. We also still can find a jumbo-sized urns containing the first course, beautiful flowers.
In the midst of its limitations, Yogyakarta city government needs to renovate the tourist sites to make it look shiny fresh, and close to its original function. No less swiftly, residents around the Watercastle too, seemed to welcome the tourists, past the boutiques and souvenir typical short training batik.
