Yogyakarta central market place was established north of the keraton during the reign of Hamengkubuwono I. A large building, the size of a city block. was constructed in 1925, and Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX then dubbed the market beringharjo in commemoration of the “beautiful bering tree” forest which stood here when the city was founded. Reconstructed in 1991. it has re-opened as the three-story Beringharjo Market Center.

Entering the crowded, dimly-lit market from the street you move into quite a different world. Tropical fruits are piled high under paper umbrellas outside the entrance. Stacks of clothing, batik (new and used), colorful lurik and other fabrics are displayed along the narrow aisles. Keris repairers and tailors ply their trades in stalls half enclosed by darkness, and all amazing array of food stuffs is found – pungent meats and fish, fresh carrots and potatoes, leafy spinach and mountains of bright-red chili peppers. Other stalls contain heaps of bamboo baskets and stack of second-hand miscellany such as motor parts, records, lamps and hardwares.

The market is teeming with surprises; the joy here is in exploring the dim corners pierced by occasional beans of sunlight from the rafters. Beware of, pickpockets and “guides” who attach themselves to you in the hopes of finagling a commission on everything you purchase. Although a few batik stalls have posted fixed prices, bargaining is the order of the day.

Tamansari or WaterCastle Jogjakarta, Memories of the 18th Century Architecture
Visiting the Watercastle complex in Yogyakarta seemed to penetrate the hall, staring at the robustness of the 18th century building. An initial introduction and later will be more intense, which combines traditional Javanese buildings with European architecture. House building in the complex form of the model village, pyramid and ‘tajug‘ with shingle-style roof tiles of concrete, combined with decorative Chinese art form of the dragon, while the giant’s head, wings of birds and flowers motif on the gate borrowed from Hindu art, while the curved motifs such as ‘mihrab’ and several other windows absorb the Islamic model. We also still can find a jumbo-sized urns containing the first course, beautiful flowers.
In the midst of its limitations, Yogyakarta city government needs to renovate the tourist sites to make it look shiny fresh, and close to its original function. No less swiftly, residents around the Watercastle too, seemed to welcome the tourists, past the boutiques and souvenir typical short training batik.
Want to try? Please come to Yogyakarta.

One day we saw becak transporting tourists in droves. They certainly will feel strange ride Becak. Traditional vehicles, still given the right to live in Yogyakarta. Along with a pedicabs, horse cart also was given the right to life, although sometimes had to yield to modern vehicles. Becak in Yogyakarta tourism developed into an icon.
Becak, is expected to be a means of transportation that is environmentally friendly, socially friendly, because passengers can interact with the driver. Therefore, rickshaws and horse, a concern and must appear to be interesting.

Completion of the pedicabs for the sake of tourism. This effort is also consistent with the objective necessity of pedicabs displayed as attractive as possible and preferably tourists.
Later, tricycles which meant it would be said to be a pedicabs tour. And, once perfected several times through creative design that is lighter and comfortable, could eventually be accepted. Pedicabs, which is not removed its presence in the city of Yogyakarta is often ridden tourists to see the atmosphere of the city in the afternoon. In fact, star-rated hotels were always provide the facilities and the pedicabs driver. Merely as one visitor attraction.
In the end, to think of English language proficiency for the driver. Because, they will each interaction. In addition, the driver should also have a high level of awareness, that tourists need good service, do not want to be cheated or even pushed out. As a means of transportation that is environmentally friendly and socially friendly, the driver can not apply unfriendly.

In various discussions pedicabs tours, such as those held at the Center for Transportation and Logistics Studies UGM. recently, there were many ideas and thoughts genius. For example, the need to design a creative pedicabs on the body. If you need to have different typical, between Jogjakarta and Solo or other areas.

Gedong Songo was originally a volcanic haze and sulfur vapor. Then worship and soul-searching. Built between the centuries VII and VIII century, older than Borobudur and Prambanan temples. Gedong Songo story seem more still shrouded in the mist of time. The global energy crisis is now up there and bothering people. The complex of seven temples of the remaining nine temples were lined up around the waist to the top of Mount Ungaran in Semarang Regency, Central Java, altitude 1,800 meters above sea level

Once you get in there, let alone be tempted to ride a horse, suddenly will feel we are on the border: the mortal world as well as the mountain mist and other mountains far away. Mount Ungaran indeed exotic locations. Ancient Hindus choose the location where the worship of Hyang Widhi Wasa, although touted built around the VIII century, there has been no definite evidence of exactly when the complex was built and the enshrinement is that correct part of the masterpiece “Wangsa Syailendra” that created the temple complex at Borobudur, Dieng, and Prambanan.

Position Gedong Songo built from the ground lined hilltops archaeologist also raises questions: Are the buildings of the temple is built on a hierarchy of holiness, that the temple is on the more sacred than that below it, or a row of temples is an instruction sequence of a religious procession?
The question is not answered until now as well.
